Reading is Fundamental (RIF) at Pecan Springs consists of helping the librarian and students pick out a free book to take home. When you arrive, check into the main office and have them direct you to library and be sure they call Mr. Temple (librarian) to ask him to open the door. When you get to the library, look for the RIF folder and check in, then pull books for the next class and lay them out on the selection table. When the class comes in, Temple will read a story, then send the students to the tables to pick out one book. You will help students write their name in the book and if we have a stamp, stamp their book. Students will sit down and look at their books. Then that class will line up and depart and you will get books ready for next class. This is an exciting time for the students. They love the books and you! When your shift is finished, drop back by the main office to check out. If this is your first time, Mr. Temple or Mary will be available to direct you and answer any questions.
