About

McKinney Falls Field Trip Heroes!

McKinney Falls is in need of volunteers to assist with running activity stations during our spring field trip season. Come share your passion for the natural world with the next generation! Field trip topics range from geology, wildlife, aquatic science, history, leave no trace, and more!

Have experience with TEKS? Volunteers can have a huge impact by helping to write TEKS-based interpretive programs, lead activities, or give general assistance.

This is a great way to gain experience working with elementary school-aged students and creating hands-on outdoor education experiences!

Training is provided and required. Spring Field Trips training will take place Saturday February 2nd 2019 at the park. For more information and to register for this opportunity, sign up today!

Field trips will begin in March and continue throughout May. Field trip days are usually Tues-Thurs, 8:30am – 12:30pm. Field trips are generally for elementary school aged children, but can sometimes branch up into more advanced grade levels.

In addition to applying here, please send us an email so we can get to know you better. Please include your educational/professional background, what ways you would like to help, and your availability. If you have experience writing curriculum, please let us know! If you don't have any formal experience teaching or working with children, that's ok – we ask that you bring your passion, positive attitude, patience, and punctuality.

Passing a criminal background check is required (at no cost to you) in order to qualify for this opportunity.

Thanks for applying to be a Field Trip Hero!
