The Green Thumb Community Orchard is "home to over 60 fruit and nut trees, dozens of edible shrubs, as well as native plants for local pollinators. Last year alone, [they] harvested over 1,892 lbs of fruit from Green Thumb, donating over 1,035 lbs of fruit to local food pantry partners and health clinics for further distribution to local families in the area” according to the Portland Fruit Tree Project website. While October marks the end of the harvest season, these plants still require maintenance as winter approaches. Join PI in preserving Oregon's stunning, natural autumn beauty by volunteering at Green Thumb Community Orchard. Please sign the Portland Parks & Recreation volunteer waiver and have your parent or guardian sign beneath your name if you are under 18.
