About
"To give a child a CASA is to give them a voice. To give them a voice is to give them hope, and to give them hope is to give them the world. I believe that with all my heart."
Former CASA child Pamela Butler
Athens Oconee Court Appointed Special Advocates or CASA for short is a national non-profit that seeks to recruit and train volunteers from our local communities to act as a voice for children in foster care. Children in foster care long for permanency whether it be with the parents they were removed from or with a foster parent willing to adopt them. As a CASA volunteer, you are empowered by a court appointment signed by the judge to help make this dream a reality. You do not have to be a lawyer or social worker to be a volunteer. We are simply looking for people who care about children, we want everyone to be a CASA.
