Austin Dragon Boat Festival 2015

Saturday, April 25th from 7:00am to Sunday, April 26th, 2015 3:00pm

About

The Austin Dragon Boat Festival is an annual event.

The Dragon Boat Festival has been an ongoing annual event in Austin since 1999. This is its 17th year in the running with growing participation and attendance. This year's event is special as this is the Chinese Year of the Ram! We anticipate to have 40 dragonboat teams (10+ from around the continent).

This event is free to the public and will feature the following attractions:

* Dragon boat races
* Taiko drums
* Lion/Dragon dance
* Japanese, Chinese and Hawaiian dances
* Martial arts demonstrations
* A variety of games and Asian foods
* Demonstrations by Austin-Travis County EMS and Fire and APD
* Various Vendors
* Moon Walk

* Face painting

We will need volunteers to coordinate a few of the above events as well as the race itself. The race is probably the coolest part of the day. We will need volunteers to coordinate with the Dragonboat teams, make announcements, work with equipment to time the races and much much more.

Looking forward to an awesome 2015 Race!

George.....

My name is Jerry Lee Gomez and I am President of San Antonio HomeStay Inc. A Non-profit catering to the needs of visiting international students in San Antonio and in our area.

I would like to bring some Taiwanese and other international Students down to the Dragon Boat event.

Some may want to volunteer and /or participate in events or assist.... any suggestions...and who can we call?

Also I have a 19 year old female Student from Taipei Taiwanese student going to St Anthony's..... a private high school here in San Antonio. She would like to have a Taiwanese engineering student possibly give her a tour and some thought / advice about the engineering program there?
Who would she need to talk to there.?
She would also like to come and spend the night there if possible with another female student to get a sense of the campus.

Can you advise or recommend anyone

Thanking You in advance for your assistance..

Best,

Jerry
