Breeding Bird Point Count

Last date was Tuesday, May 14th, 2019 from 7:00am to 10:00am (CT)

The Breeding Bird Point Count (BBPC) is the most preferred technique for determining breeding bird species composition, relative population abundance and density by habitat type, as well as monitoring of long-term trends of species composition and abundance.  Participants will work in teams that visit marked points among the CNC & Farm habitat types. All birds located within 50 yards of the point during a 5 minute period of listening and observing will be recorded.

Strong birding skills and familiarity with the species of the Hill Country is preferred but not required. Must be able to walk on uneven terrain without assistance.    The survey is scheduled for April 30th,  May 7th and May 14th.   Team meets at the CNC pavilion near the parking lot NLT 6:50am so teams can start at 7am.
