Description
Explore UT is an open house event the first Saturday of March where the diversity of the UT campus and the variety of learning opportunities can be explored. The Cockrell School of Engineering hosts a variety of hands-on activities, demonstrations, lectures, and displays.
Requirements
Volunteers are Cockrell School of Engineering students, staff and faculty.
PerksAll volunteers get an Explore UT t-shirt. Water and snacks are available throughout the day.
Parking DetailsParking garages on the engineering side of campus are typically free on the day of Explore UT.

Set-up Volunteer Roles may include the following:
* Set up tables and chairs — layout provided
* Hang signs on buildings and tables — layout provided
* Hang streamers or other decorations
* Use chalk to create sidewalk art in info booth areas and in other areas leading to the Cockrell School
* Blow up balloons and distribute to all tents and departments
* Put volunteer snacks and drinks behind tables
* Set out programs and maps

Student organization volunteers do not need to sign up here but may if you want to keep up with who from your organization is volunteering. This is an easy way to track your participants for the day. Shifts and information regarding the volunteer role will come directly from the student organization.35/35Over

Students are needed to lead various aspects of Explore UT throughout the day. Coordinators are expected to be available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. the whole day. Coordinators will take the lead for overseeing volunteer check-in, the Wichita Street Info Booth, the CPE/ETC Info Booth, coordinating set-up, managing all plaza areas, etc. Roles will be based on interest and need. Training is provided Thursday, Friday or Saturday prior to the event.7/7Over

Help give directions, hand out programs, bookmarks and giveaways, smile and greet visitors, have fun!

Roles may include the following:
* Familiarize yourself with the things going on in the Cockrell School during your volunteer time by looking at the program
* Greet all visitors and ask if they need help finding an activity or session
* Hand out maps, passports, Cockrell School of Engineering programs, giveaways, bags and more to visitors
* Hand out snacks and drinks to volunteers as they need them
