Thank you for your interest in the 2019 Athens MLK Day of Service! Below you will find details about the Day of Service and this specific project.
Kick-off Celebration: 8:30AM - 9:30AM at the Cedar Shoals High School gymnasium (1300 Cedar Shoals Drive).
Volunteer Shift: 10:00AM - 1:00PM at H. B. Stroud Elementary School (715 Fourth Street).
Volunteers will join WatershedUGA and staff from the school to remove invasive plant species as well as briars and other obstacles from the nature trail that runs behind the school. Volunteers will also be working on cleaning and organizing equipment in an outdoor courtyard area that will become a classroom for students to learn and practice STEM skills. Volunteers will also assist with litter pick-up and clearing flower beds.
Children under 18 should be registered by their parent/guardian. All volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
We are not able to accommodate large group registrations. If you have a group that would like to volunteer at the same site, each individual must separately register through Engage Georgia.
