Power UP: It's a Mother Daughter Thing is an event to empower young women and their moms in the field of construction and STEM. Mothers and daughters from all over Birmingham are welcome to attend this free event to learn more about the industry and opportunities within it. Girls Inc. of Central Alabama has been a sponsor since this annual event first started (in 2015). Volunteers are needed to assist in set up, in the reception area, as group guides, as runners (distributing supplies) and at the information table. Dress code is a pink, purple, or lime green shirt with jeans and comfortable shoes.
All volunteers will need to attend a mandatory training on March 5th from 5:30-7 PM.
|Set up registration area, hands on area, and auditorium, as well as hang banners
|Help distribute needed supplies and surveys to participants throughout the event.
|Lead groups to their assigned locations by following the timed schedule in order to ensure all groups stay in rotation.
|Assist at the information table to help answer questions.
|Greet guests and welcome them to the event. Float the reception area ensuring the mothers and daughters have a wrist band and name tag. Instruct guests to the auditorium. Assist with door prizes and t-shirts.
