Tri Cycle Farms' 6th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service

Monday, January 21st, 2019 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm (CT)

Join Tri Cycle Farms in celebrating the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. on January 21st, 2019, from 12pm-4pm. We will complete a variety of projects at the farm, including projects like
  • Cleaning up City Chicks chicken coop
  • Mixing soil amendments to make potting soil, and then starting seeds in our potting soil mixture
  • Clearing and strawing any remaining unwinterized garden beds
  • Mulching
  • Property clean-up
Volunteers are encouraged to bring tools such as loppers, hand saws, and wheel barrows if you have them.  Please label your tools so they come back to you during wrap up.
At 3:30pm, volunteers and community members are invited to hear the story of and share a community meal of "Stone Soup" at the Trinity United Methodist Church fellowship hall, which is right across the street from the farm (and where you will park if you are driving). This meal is free and open to the public. Bring a container with you so you can take home some soup! Let's work together and then share in healthy, organic soups and breads together!

  • Noon - 3pm Community Service
  • 3 - 3:30 Community Service wrap up, pick up tools
  • 3:30 - 4 Stone Soup community meal

Check GivePulse and our Facebook page for an announcement by 9am on Monday morning in case of any changes due to weather events.

If you would like to make a group reservation for your on-campus organization, please email the organizer. We would love to host your student organization at this event as well as on independently scheduled workdays!
