About

Good Samaritan Community Services is a catalyst for change, supporting youth, individuals, and families by providing excellent community services to overcome the impact of poverty.  These services include a child development program, after school and summer youth enrichment programs, a college readiness program, family services, and the only nationally accredited senior center in South Texas.  What began as a ministry of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in downtown San Antonio moved to the west side in 1951 and now reaches more than 5,250 individuals and families across six (6) sites in South Texas.

The three cornerstones of GSCS are:

GSCS collaborates with a variety of organizations to enhance the quality of our programs. Current and past partners include: the San Antonio Food Bank, the San Antonio Public Library, Smart Start for Teachers, San Antonio Association for the Education of Young Children, UT Health Science Center, Youth Orchestras of San Antonio, and the San Antonio Museum of Art.

GSCS operates programs in six (6) regional sites including: Main Campus San Antonio, North East San Antonio, Brownsville, Pharr, Sonora, and Wimberley.
