Given a tour of the Knock Knock Museum
On 9/12, my classmates and I attended a tour of Knock Knock to prepare us for the upcoming sensory nights/days that were to come. During this time, we learned what the Knock Knock Museum was all about, what they strived to achieve with each family that walked in, and how they wanted us to participate to reach that main goal (which ultimately was to offer children of all ages a place to learn/play through different learning approaches).
This time was a different experience because they had field trips come in and out. There were old kids than on Friday some they knew more about there body, which was pretty cool to see. This whole experience was amazing, being able to talk to our younger generation and to help them learn without realizing!
Volunteering with the children was great! It was really neat interacting with them and incorporating a bit of our radiography knowledge through ways they enjoyed.
I felt more confident the second session. I had a fun time teaching and interacting with the children at knock knock.
I was a little more prepared for the second service-learning day, so I still had a great time but I felt more equipped to share my knowledge with the kids and get them interested.
