About

Are you wondering how your campus can improve its assessment of its community engagement? Are you considering how you can document those assessment practices and related data on the application for the Elective Carnegie Community Engagement Classification? Join us for a workshop led by Drs. Matthew Johnson, Marisol Morales, and John Saltmarsh on the assessment portion of the application and best practices seen from across successful applications and the literature.

Participants will be given the opportunity to ask questions prior to each webinar, and auto-captioning will be turned on.

Speakers:

A global leader in higher education, Dr. Mathew Johnson, president of Albion College, leads the development of Carnegie Foundation Elective Classifications, the Elective Classification for Community Engagement, and a multi-year international Carnegie Community Engagement Classification project, involving 26 institutions of higher education across the world.

Dr. Marisol Morales is the Vice-President for Network Leadership for Campus Compact where she supports a network of state and regional directors across the country and leads Campus Compact’s efforts to increase inclusion, equity, and diversity in higher education community engagement. She brings to this role her extensive experience developing and leading campus community engagement efforts.

Dr. John Saltmarsh is Professor of Higher Education in the Department of Leadership in Education in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Massachusetts, Boston.  From 2005-2016 he served as the Director of the New England Resource Center for Higher Education (NERCHE), and during that time he led the Elective Classification for Community Engagement. A public scholar himself, he has published extensively on the elective classification, community engagement, and higher education.
