#GivingTuesdayNow - May 5, 2020
GivePulse is a Giving Tuesday Now Platform Partner helping to support organizations looking to fundraise, crowdfund, and scale their management of donations from donors, volunteers and advocates
#GivingTuesdayNow + GivePulse
The COVID-19 crisis has deeply impacted our community of higher-ed institutions, businesses, nonprofits and cities & municipalities. For #GivingTuesdayNow and beyond, we want to provide our donation management services for free and immediately lower our donation transaction fees (for the foreseeable future). We believe these measures can immediately lift our community through these difficult times. Organizations interested in learning more about our COVID-19 response can read more here.
Providing our donation management services for free
We want to use this opportunity to ensure nonprofits large and small can leverage our platform to organize all their constituents (from volunteers, to donors, to board members and advocates).
Lowering our donation transaction fees
Many platforms includes additional transaction fees along with the credit card fees. We want to collaborate with all partners, and decrease the fees to ensure your organization can scale with us. Our GivePulse transaction fees are 1%.
Open Office Hours
Our team regularly provides open office hours to all community partners. The focus of these sessions can range from setting up donations to organizing virtual volunteer opportunities. No matter what the subject is, our team of experts can help provide a clinic, work through scenarios and connect you to additional resources and contacts. Let us know how we can collaborate and be helpful. To sign up you can go here.
During these very unique times, we've been working with a number of collaborators to help support our community partners. At this time, we want to highlight Salesforce since they have been proactive in identifying ways to help alleviate newfound burdens and pressure points for our collaborative partners. To learn more about this partnership you can go here. To learn more about additional CRM, Payment or Database integrations, please reach out to us firstname.lastname@example.org
We are known for our volunteer matching, management and scheduling capabilities. Let us know how we can help guide you to leverage virtual/remote volunteers or to identify how volunteers can help during these difficult times while remaining safe. Let your community engage with you through donations, crowdfunding and fundraising campaigns
1% + Credit/Debit Fee
The processing fee is 1% + Credit/Debit Transaction (2.9% + 30cents). The 1% allows us to invest back into community initiatives like Director of Volunteers in Associations, Scholarships, Pro Bono projects and many others (see more here). Note: when a donor covers the fees, the effective donation transaction rate drops to an average of 1%
Let Donor Cover Fees
Your organization will keep at least $98.50 of every $100 you raise. You also have the ability to allow your donors to cover the donation processing fees. Over 85% of donors normally do. Because of this, nonprofits keep an average of $99.00 of every $100 raised. In these instances, the effective transaction rate could become 1%
Lowest Rate in Industry
The per transaction fee is 3.9% + 30cents for web payments, which includes credit card fees. As mentioned above, your donors have the option to cover this fee. If all of your supporters cover the fee, you’ll pay no transaction fees for fundraising. This coupled with our platform is the lowest rate in the industry
Add your organization’s branding to the whole donation experience, from the fundraising page, to the thank you confirmation, and to the follow up email notifications
Automated Thank You
Customize thank you notes when people donate and determine when you want the notifications to go out. These thank you notes will then be automatically sent to the donor’s email at your chosen time, whether that is immediately after the donation or at a later date once your fundraising campaign has ended
You decide what information and data you want to gather. Customize the workflow to include a followup survey or a set of unique questions to ask the donor
Customize what fields you want to capture every single time a donor donates to you. Our one-stop database approach allows you to review custom field data and communicate with donors all in one place
Create unique reports based on the campaign you created. You can filter and sort by donated amounts and time periods to accurately and thoroughly understand your donors and their donations to your cause
Should you decide that you want to use GivePulse to augment an existing CRM or ERP system, we can help. We out-of-the-box integrate with Salesforce, SugarCRM, Blackbaud and other products
Best Practices for your #GivingTuesdayNow campaign
We know asking for help right now can be difficult. #GivingTuesdayNow is a global movement of generosity that helps you reach out and let your community know they can make a difference and be a part of something bigger, whether that’s by making a gift, volunteering their time or spreading the word. Great #GivingTuesdayNow campaigns are relevant, creative and express a sense of urgency. When planning for your #GivingTuesdayNow campaign, you’ll want to think about:
Your funding needs during the COVID-19 crisis will most likely be unpredictable so fundraising for a general or emergency fund where you can easily access and use donations will be essential. Now is also a perfect opportunity to seek in-kind donations, such as food, hand-sanitizer, books, and more. Learn about how our platform can help support donation drives here.
Describe the effect donations will have on your organization during COVID-19. If you can put a face and a story behind your ask, that’s even better!
Give your donors a reason to give now, whether that’s an urgent need, a gift match or a goal you’re trying to reach. #GivingTuesdayNow provides urgency by giving you one day to be a part of something bigger, but you don’t need to limit your campaign to just one day! Plan a multi-day campaign leading up to or launching on #GivingTuesdayNow.
Adding language that addresses the difficulty of this situation for others will help you reach out to those who want to help without seeming tone deaf to those who aren’t able to give back.
Now is the time to be honest and explicit about your organization’s needs. Make sure to pair your donation or volunteer asks with examples of impact.
It takes a village and the more help you can get the better. Reach out to your volunteer and donor community to ask them to spread the word or even start their own peer-to-peer campaign from your GivePulse funding event page.
Thank your community
Make sure to follow up with a thank you message to donors, volunteers and to those who helped spread the word. If you’re short-staffed, you can use your volunteers to help thank others by asking them to write emails, cards or record videos. And if you want to be personal during this unique times, thank donor(s) collectively on a webinar!
