Hindu Charities For America (HC4A) was conceived for the purpose of providing education to econominally disadvantaged students in local communities.
US has over 51% of the children in the US live in poverty. Texas has 60%.
We like to contribute by providing education to these students, one student at a time. Working with Texas Homeless Education office, we have established two projects:
Annual donations of school supplies to homeless children working with the Jewish Federation of Greater Austin - we have served and continue to serve many of the ISDs
Donation of vocational/trade school Scholarships that are administered by the ISDs or institutions. For 2015, we are donating $25k in scholarships to Capital Idea, Austin Community College and Manor ISD.
