VINE has provided services to older adults and their family caregivers in Blue Earth and Nicollet Counties in south central Minnesota since 1995. VINE coordinates volunteers and services to assist people with long-term health needs or difficult life circumstances enabling them to maintain their human dignity and the greatest possible level of independence.
VINE is well recognized as the "organization to call when there is no one else to call". They have always believed in taking calculated risks and consistently step up to meet community needs that fit the scope of their mission. Over the past 22 years, people of all ages have come to depend on VINE for compassionate, affordable assistance that helps them navigate life's challenging times and maintain personal independence.
VINE serves people in need regardless of age, nationality, gender, or creed. Although services are not limited to older adults, 2/3 of VINE volunteers and 69% of those served are over age 60. The organization's major program areas are: volunteer caregiving, transportation, chore assistance, Hot Meals on Wheels, peer mentoring, health care transitions, adult respite care, support groups, and senior health and fitness. VINE also manages the VINE Adult Community Center and provides educational, social, and health related activities for aging adults in the Greater Mankato, Minnesota area.
