About
Now in 20 cities, Experience Corps works to solve the serious social problem of illiteracy. Today, more than 2,000 Corps volunteers serve as tutors and mentors in urban public schools, teaching children to read and develop the confidence to succeed in school and in life. Research shows that Experience Corps boosts student academic performance, helps schools become more successful, strengthens ties between schools and surrounding neighborhoods, and enhances the well-being of the volunteers in the process.
