Through a network of more than 2,500 community partners (school systems, libraries, community agencies and others) across 31 states, in 2012 alone we reached nearly 120,000 children and families.
Since our inception, we have helped more than 1 million families build and sustain reading routines in their homes, with special attention to highest-risk for educational failure.
Develop- Raising A Reader helps parents develop the habit of sharing books through RAR’s train the trainer model.
Practice-To practice the habit of sharing books, each week children bring home a bright red book bags filled with award-winning books.
Sustain- Raising A Reader connects families to libraries to sustain the habit of borrowing and sharing books.
Mission: RAR helps families of children aged 0-8 develop, practice and maintain home-based literacy routines critical for school success.
