About
We are a history museum, located in an 1809 Federal-style house, open to the public year-round. We offer public and group programs to adults, families, school groups, cultrual organizations, etc.. Programs include the Annual House Tour, Children's Sunday and Interrational Harmony Day, walking tours, school vacation programs, exhibits, historic research, holiday events and much more.
Mission: The Jackson Homestead, an accredited history museum, pertains to Newton's history and culture, development, and that of the 19th century. As it was a station on the Underground Railroad, we also focus on abolition.
