The Runnin' for Rhett Foundation (R4R) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization established December 7, 2007 in memory of Rhett Seevers. Rhett passed away in March of 2004, at the age of seven, from complications of Cerebral Palsy. Battling depression at the loss of her son, Beth Seevers was encouraged by a friend to start exercising as a way to combat her depression. She found inspiration from the healing qualities of physical activity and realized that others may have the same need as she did. Beth knew how much Rhett wanted to be like other children running and playing and since her son would never walk or run, she was inspired to start R4R for those who had the opportunity to get out and "Move into Life."
