Habitat For Humanity / 7 Rivers Maine

HFH/7RM coordinates the labor of volunteers with contributions of money and materials to build modest, affordable, energy-efficient housing and to weatherize family-owned homes in partnership with qualified families. New and rehabilitated homes are sold to our partner families at no profit and very low interest. HFH/7RM works with individuals and families who live in substandard housing, who make between 25-80% of the area median income, who have the ability to pay the very low interest mortgages, and who are willing to contribute 200 hours of "sweat equity" per adult in the household. This program is "not a hand-out, but a hand-up" allowing any family to develop self-satisfaction, pride, and confidence.
