Norwood Village Green Concert Series Inc



There is no admission charged. There is a pass the bucket. It was conceived and co-founded by Joseph and Harriet Liotta in 1974. Joseph Liotta, Jon Hunkins, Dr. Peter McCoy, Andrew Van Duyne, Ben Todd, Scott LaVine and Jessica Newtown serve as members of the Board of Directors of the Corporation. Over the years the Norwood Village Green Concert Series has presented 746 performances for an audience in excess of 612,162 (revised to date August 31, 2016). The Series has been able to present two National Medal of Arts recipients, two National Heritage recipients, 17 Grammy Award winners, 14 Grammy nominees, 2 MacArthur Genius Fellows, a National Fiddle Champion, a National Dulcimer Champion, a Helen Hayes Performing Artist of the Year, 15 Juno recipients, 14 International Bluegrass Music Association winners, 3 Blues Foundation Awards recipients, several Living Blues Foundation winners, and 7 Maple Blues awardees. It also has award-winning recipients in a wide range of various other disciplines including a CMA best video award, a recipient of The Order of Canada, 3 Emmy Award recipients, 2 Guggenheim Fellowships, and The French Legion of Honneurs, along with a host of international, national, regional and local performers. It is voluntarily administered but hires a technical crew of high school students, is ASCAP licensed, and presents 15 professional and 2 student-based events annually. All professional performers are financially compensated according to industry standards and fees are amicably negotiated.
