The Wisconsin Breast Cancer Coalition is the premier breast cancer policy organization in the state. Our volunteers are committed, informed and highly motivated to stop breast cancer deaths; we attack the problem through policy and education, working to make sure breast cancer survivors and their families are supported by laws and systems. We collaborate with other area breast cancer organizations, who look to us to track policy changes and developments and inform the community when issues arise. WBCC trains our volunteers to be effective advocates for the breast cancer community. We provide opportunities for volunteers to deepen their understanding of this complex disease and to bring their experiences to decision-makers in Madison and Washington DC. We also are advocates in science - following the research about prevention and metastatic breast cancer treatments, and bringing that research to the public. We maintain a legislative Action Alert network that is mobilized when legislators need to hear from breast cancer activists. We educate our supporters, the general public and policy makers so that when policy is made, it helps rather than harms people with breast cancer.
The WBCC is a grassroots advocacy organization. Our mission is to to bring Wisconsin voices together to Stand Up and Speak Out about breast cancer with : Legislation, Education, and Collaboration
