The Caring Place adult day center is located in downtown Waukesha and has been operating since 1988. The Caring Place is open Monday through Friday, 7:00a.m. to 5:30p.m. The program services adults 50 years of age and older with physical disabilities and/or moderate mental impairments. The Caring Place is a non-profit corporation, certified by the State of Wisconsin and managed by a Board of Directors. It is one of 41 United Way agencies in Waukesha County.
Mission: To enrich the lives of older adults, provide them with supportive health and social services and give respite care and assistance to families and caregivers. The Caring Place emphasizes stimulating, life-enhancing activity and sociability. Individual abilities and interests are an important consideration in daily programming. The Caring Place also coordinates a Meals-On-Wheels Program in collaboration with Waukesha Memorial Hospital so that home-bound elders, or handicapped individuals can receive nutritious meals delivered to them in their homes.These meals are tailored to their individual dietary needs, and can be ordered for short-term or long-term periods of time for people needing assistance following hospitalization, or for health and safety reasons.
