We welcome the public to tour our historic site, to take in the rare Fresnel Lens, the Fog Bell, a Chadburn Telegraph and other artifacts, and to witness the views from the tower. Our visitors are invited to appreciate the stories of lighthouse keepers and their families in our Keeper's Corner. They also have a fine opportunity to appreciate North Point Lighthouse?s location in historic Lake Park. Our lighthouse tower and the main gallery are open for tours on Saturdays & Sundays from 1-4 pm (with exceptions posted on the web site www.northpointlighthouse.org) We rely heavily on volunteers to keep the facility open for tours, to conduct special tours for schools and other other groups on week days, to maintain the lighthouse and its garden and grounds. We also hold fundraisers, special events, lectures and workshops throughout the year. The main gallery and lighthouse are available for rent on a case-by-case basis.
Our mission is to tell the historic story of the North Point Light Station, its 19th century Keeper?s Quarters and light tower as well as the role of Great Lakes maritime travel in the history of Milwaukee.
