About
RSVP of Durham County is a National Service program sponsored locally by Durham Technical Community College and federally by The Corporation for National and Community Service. The RSVP office is located at the Center for College & Community Service located at 1637 E. Lawson Street in Building 3, (Phillips Building) on Durham Technical Community College’s main campus.
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Durham County provides personalized volunteer placement for people age 55+ to meet vital community needs. Volunteers choose where they serve and how much time they wish to give, sharing their skills or developing new ones to make a difference in the community. Studies have shown that older adults who volunteer are generally healthier and happier with more sustained social connections and a sense of purpose and belonging.
