While there are many gaps that challenge children in Sheboygan County, three issues are of particular concern to the Boys & Girls Club: the academic achievement gap, the physical health of members, and the moral character of our kids. The Boys & Girls Club wants to see each of our members experience 60 minutes of physical activity daily (a national standard for children’s health). More than 120 members improve their health at the Club each day. Instilling character and leadership qualities in adolescents has never been more important than it is today. But cheating, stealing and lying by high school students have continued an alarming nationwide upward spiral. This is why after-school programs like the Boys & Girls Clubs are needed in Sheboygan County. The Boys & Girls Club is unique, because it provides daily programs in a dedicated facility with trained, professional staff. Here, members find a space and program that is only for kids – they are not a side program for an adult-focused organization.
