HORSEPOWER's mission is to promote and enhance the welfare of individuals with disabilities by providing a program of therapeutic, educational and/or recreational value; and further, to empower individuals who are intellectually, physically, emotionally, socially or developmentally challenged through the use of horses; while providing therapeutic benefits in a safe and controlled atmosphere.
We are not a place for "pony rides". We provide equine facilitated experiential activities for people living with disabilities; At-Risk Youth; and American Veterans. We are here to make a difference in people's lives by identifying individual goals and then implementing equine assisted activities to real those goals. Currently, HORSEPOWER is building a brand new facility in High Point that should be operational around April of 2018. We are building a handicap accessible barn; a Veteran's barn; a large covered riding arena; an outdoor arena; a Sensory Trail; and other facilities to meet current and emerging needs of individuals, schools, and other agencies that serve community members who live with some identified disability.
