Since offering its first classes at area high schools in 1985, Collin College has expanded to serve about 53,000 credit and continuing education students each year. The only public college in the county, the college offers more than 100 degrees and certificates in a wide range of disciplines. Quality Enhancement Plan The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a key component of the reaffirmation process required by the Commission on Colleges (COC) of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Conferencing Facilities Conferencing facilities, meeting rooms, lecture halls and classrooms may be rented when space is available. The college also provides professional catering services and audio/visual needs. SAIL is a participant-led lifelong learning program offered to students 55 years of age and older. SAIL classes are non-credit; there are no tests, grades or papers to write. The sheer joy of learning something new, and becoming more informed, is the goal of SAIL participants. The SAIL community includes talented instructors, college professors, and business leaders with categorical expertise.We offer a wide array of courses, such as, literature, history, art and music education, social sciences, and discussion of current events. SAIL highlights the liberal arts and emphasizes academic excellence. Students learn from each other, hear and consider opposing ideas, integrate the expertise of the instructor, and ultimately synthesize opinions and views. SAIL also provides volunteer opportunities that help members build relationships with each other and the community.
