Franciscan Works - Liberia Mission

About

Franciscan Works currently operates Liberia Mission Inc. in West Africa. Liberia Mission is a community of love, learning, work and prayer. At Liberia Mission, poor and orphaned children - survivors of Liberias long and brutal civil war - are learning to become future leaders in their families, communities, and country. Liberia Mission includes boarding homes for boys and girls, St. Anthony of Padua School, and St. Michael the Archangel Chapel. There are currently nearly 400 children served at Liberia Mission. Liberia Mission welcomes individuals and volunteer groups.

Mission: Franciscan Works is dedicated to the ministry of self-help for children living in poverty through education that is rooted in Gospel values in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi. We believe that the lack of education is a root cause of many social and economic problems in developing countries. The shallow pool of human capital, knowledge, technical skills and abilities compromises their potential for development. We utilize a long-term three-part development model to address this problem.

Congratulations to Kuta, Handful and Flomo! from Fr. John Carville
Thanks to Emmanuel for his letter. Emmanuel, stick with your chemistry and physics. I too struggled with chemistry. I never had to take physics, not even in college. But you are fortunate if you like math.
Your education will be an advantage to you throughout your life. God bless you. Fr. John
