YWCA Northeastern Massachusetts Enrichment Center

About

The YWCA Enrichment Center is comprised of two main areas, Early Learning Center and Out of School Time Program. Our youth-oriented programs grew out of women's economic needs for safe, world-class programs to serve their children while they work. We responded.

Today, our award winning Early Learning Center serves 95 children ages 1 month to 5 years, and for the past five years has graduated 100% of preschoolers at or above state standards before they begin kindergarten. This achievement has been earned through innovative curriculum that focuses on establishing solid foundations in core knowledge areas, including number and letter identification, reading, comprehension and writing skills.

Our Out of School programs operate year round, and serve children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Our After School program runs September through the end of the academic year. We have programs available at the YWCA in both Lawrence and Haverhill.  Focus is given to academic success and training children to be eager and effective learners, with afternoon tutoring available. Once home work is completed, children are encouraged to participate in games, field trips and our computer center. Our program also runs during school vacations, including the summertime.
