Learning Leaders

Learning Leaders recruits, trains and supports over 6,000 school volunteers who work in nearly 300 schools throughout the five boroughs.

Trained and screened volunteers provide one-on-one tutoring in reading, writing, ESL, math and other academic subjects at the elementary and middle school level, as well as non-instructional aid such as general office and library assistance. Volunteers also supplement school curriculum with enrichment programs such as book clubs.

Students gain academic knowledge, but also confidence, self-determination and proof of their own potential. Volunteers treasure the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to anothers life, far beyond the classroom. Teachers value a trusted partner in their classroom who gives them reliable support and assistance.

Mission: Learning Leaders is New York Citys largest and most experienced organization dedicated to engaging families and communities to supportstudent success.
