About
On May 2, 2007 - one day before his 4th birthday - Max Plotkin was diagnosed with a rare form of B-Cell Lymphoma in the bone. Maxs doctors pursued a range of aggressive treatments. Max faced each treatment with amazing courage, and to help him to be brave, Max brought his favorite stuffed lion to his cancer treatments. Just as Max symbolizes courage and bravery in the face of adversity to those who know him personally, the Foundations logo, Lion Max, and its public message and mantra, Be Brave, symbolize these virtues. Thankfully, Max , now 10-years-old, responded well to his treatments. Now in remission, he is doing his best to overcome the side-effects of chemotherapy and to enjoy childhood. Compelled to help other children and families battling pediatric cancer, the Plotkin family formed The Max Cure Foundation for Pediatric Cancer Causes.
