About
What would you do?
...if printed material was no longer an option because you had lost the ability to see or to turn a page ... Your most reliable connection to the world around you had simply vanished ....
A Gatewave radio or internet service gives you access to the daily reading of the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and other daily newspapers as well as a host of magazines and occasionally, books. We also provide programs specifically for those with visual impairments and other disabilities. Our readings are produced by trained spoken word artists.
Gatewave is an internet/radio reading service providing access to publications for blind and disabled listeners. Based in New York City, its content is rebroadcast by affiliated reading services throughout the United States.
Gatewave's programs are broadcast 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to help keep you better informed.
Gatewave is a non-profit 501(C)(3) charitable organization dedicated to providing alternatives to reading for those who are visually or physically disabled.
Mission: Gatewave gives voice to the written word, reading the texts of newspapers and magazines which enables those who cannot see or read to achieve independence, allows them to maintain their dignity and provides them the information they need to enrich their lives.
