Children's Scholarship Fund

About

While efforts are underway to improve failing inner-city schools, Childrens Scholarship Fund (CSF) is providing low-income children with immediate access to a quality education. In fact, in our 14 year history, CSF has invested $483 million in the education of nearly 123,000 children, encouraging them to achieve their dreams and become valuable contributors to society.

Key to our success is strong family involvement, which is rooted in the financial contribution required of all families. Specifically, every family is required to pay a minimum of $500 towards tuition, ensuring they are fully invested and empowered in their childrens education and that a CSF scholarship is truly a hand-up, not a hand-out. Also, families are free to choose the school their child attends and can always transfer a CSF scholarship if they are unhappy with their chosen school.

This school year, because of the generosity of our donors, the efforts of 29 partner programs, and the sacrifices made by the families themselves, 25,500 low-income children across the country are attending private schools on a CSF scholarship.

Mission: The Children's Scholarship Fund aims to maximize educational opportunity for all children: for those in need by offering tuition assistance in grades K-8 for alternatives to faltering conventional schools, and for all children by supporting and cultivating education reform and parental choice efforts.
