VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance)



The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people with low income, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. Students receive thorough training which will certify them as IRS-certified Volunteer Tax Preparers. Students can get involved with VITA in three ways: 1. Enroll in ACC 390 with Dr. Andy Sharp 2. Volunteer Directly with SaveFirst 3. Apply to be a SaveFirst intern This is a spring semester placement. Students must have a car, however carpooling may be available. Service and service training takes place on Saturdays and Wednesday evenings. For more information email
