Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA)



A CASA Volunteer is an individual who is at least 21 years of age, has completed the application and screening process, been trained by Delaware County CASA (30 hours), sworn in before a Judge, taken an oath of confidentiality, and appointed by the Court. CASA volunteers advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children and make recommendation to the court. The primary responsibilities of a CASA volunteer are to: Gather information: Review documents and records, interview the children, family members and professionals in their lives and write Court Reports.
