Parkinson’s Association of the Rockies



Organization Description: The Parkinson Association of the Rockies provides the vital care that counts on the way to a cure by enhancing the quality of life for individuals with Parkinson's disease through education, research, awareness and support for those with the disease, their families and the community. The Parkinson Association offers support groups, exercise classes, in-home visits and educational events that help empower and increase the physical, mental and emotional wellness of those impacted by Parkinson's disease.

Project Description: Students will assist with ongoing programming provided by Parkinson Association of the Rockies. This may include assisting with weekly exercise classes and monthly support groups for individuals and family members living with Parkinson's disease. Additionally, students may help coordinate and implement special events, educational presentations and activities that promote the mission of Parkinson Association. Students will work with site supervisor to design a project that helps meet current organizational needs. Project topics may include addressing/meeting needs of early onset populations, enhancing support group structures, promoting the equipment loan program, and building capacity for exercise classes and support groups.
