Spalding Brain Injury Support Group



Organization Description: This is a group led by volunteers or staff at Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital for adults who have suffered a traumatic brain injury or acquired brain injury. The group connects the participants with access to community resources, information and support for how to cope with a brain injury and their family members. The group is the 4th Wednesday 6:30 to 8:00 pm of the month, except for November the 3rd Wednesday of the month. We do not have a group the month of December.

Project Description: Students will be responsible at each meeting to give a presentation for the first 10-15 minutes, and then facilitate group discussion and interaction about said topic and/or any other concerns or questions that group members have.  There will be a Spalding staff member present to assist you with planning and coordination, as well as more information on topics and group dynamics during the orientation. Past group topics have included, but not limited to: nutrition, yoga, acupuncture, cognitive games, music therapy, etc. A staff member an (OT, PT or ST) will always be present during the group.
