Nature and Purpose of Agency
The Holy Trinity Neighborhood Center serves our hungry, homeless, and less fortunate neighbors through direct outreach and interactions on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York. The Neighborhood Center runs four major community outreach programs: Neighborhood Saturday Supper, the Shelter, Senior Lunch, and the Thanksgiving Project.
Tasks Available for Students
Neighborhood supper program: Assist with preparing a meal for approximately 100 community members in need. Tasks may include setting up, cooking, serving, cleaning up, or welcoming guests.
Shifts are available every Saturday, 3:15-6:45 p.m.
3 students per shift.
Student Awareness/Special Instructions
- Students are suggested to go in pairs or groups of three students, as this service opportunity is in the evening in Manhattan.
- Please go straight to the kitchen in the basement of the Parish House when you arrive. Don't forget to sign in!
- When you arrive please see the team captain, depending on who is there when you attend.
Take the Q46 bus from Union Turnpike toward Queens Blvd/Kew Gardens. Get off the bus at Union Turnpike/Queens Blvd, and transfer to the E train toward Manhattan. Take the E to the 63rd and Lexington stop. Transfer to the Q train heading Uptown. (Ride in the front of the train.) Get off the train at the 86th Street station. Head North on 2nd Ave. towards E 88th St. At 88th St, turn east. Walk into the church garden, and enter the building to the right of the church.
