Did you know that every 30 seconds someone is diagnosed with Lupus? Lupus is one of the cruelest, most mysterious diseases on earth – an unpredictable and misunderstood autoimmune disease that ravages different parts of the body. It is difficult to diagnose, hard to live with, and a challenge to treat. It affects approximately 1.5 million Americans; it is two to three more common among African American, Latinos, American Indians and Asians. Lupus occurs 10 to 15 times more frequently among adult females and it is potentially fatal. The Lupus Foundation of America, Lone Star Chapter will host its Fourth Annual Walk to End Lupus Now™ 5K event in Austin, on September 8th at Old Settlers Park. We would like to invite you to join our efforts by becoming a volunteer, in kind donor or helping create a team of walkers. Our event will attract 500 participants from the lupus community in Austin and the surrounding areas. Proceeds from the 5th Annual Walk to End Lupus Now™ will benefit local programs and services available to people living with lupus in our community. We provide the most accurate and up to date information on lupus, support individuals through education, local support groups, local resources and fund lupus research. Thank you for your time and consideration.
