Below you'll find some information about CHAT's volunteer opportunities for the 2018-2019 school year, and the next steps you'll need to take if you want to get involved.
Our main volunteer opportunity is After School Mentoring. After School Mentoring pairs students K-12 with a trusted adult who helps with homework and encourages positive life choices. Additionally, students receive dinner, recreation time, and spiritual instruction. We have four program areas, divided by age, which meet at three sites located in Richmond's east end.
Mentors are volunteers who commit to attend the program weekly for at least one semester. Mentors come on the same day each week (Monday or Tuesday, from 4-6pm) and work with the same student each week. Our semester begins September 10th and ends December 18th.
We're asking all volunteers, new and returning, to create an account in our new online volunteer management system. Click here to get started. Once you fill out the form, we'll be in touch with next steps.
If you'd like to be involved with mentoring but can't make the commitment, you may be able to serve as an alternate. We will also need one time volunteers for our Fall Festival and Christmas Store partnering with the Robinson Theater. Contact Emiline Lyell for more details at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks for your interest in volunteering!
