Los Angeles Public Library

The Los Angeles Public Library is largest public research institution west of the Mississippi.

We have over 3,600 active volunteers throughout the system's Central Library and 72 branch libraries, in a variety of volunteer positions. Each location has different volunteer needs and projects, so not all positions will be available at all locations. Please contact your local library for more information about volunteer opportunities.

Adult volunteers working with children will be fingerprinted.

Mission: The Los Angeles Public Library provides free and easy access to information, ideas, books and technology that enrich, educate and empower every individual in our city's diverse communities.
