City Impact is a non-profit ministry that reaches out to youth and their families in Lincoln's central neighborhoods. We offer volunteer-driven programs to invest in the lives of our city's youth and families. The Impact Reading Center is a City Impact tutoring program that runs during the school day at four of the Lincoln Public schools. Tutors are needed at Clinton, Elliot, Hartley, or McPhee School. The volunteer commitment would involve one hour per week at one of the four sites. Tutors are trained in a research-based curriculum that is prepared for them, requiring no preparation on the part of the tutor. The time requirement is small but the rewards are great! Participants are required to complete an online application found at the City Impact website, agree to a background check, and attend a 2-hour training.
