VIBES Volunteers work in the school setting in partnership with school staff. Volunteers are asked to commit to 1 hour a week during the school year. Opportunities are available in all 28 Bellevue schools, grades Preschool - 12.

I would like to volunteer to be a teacher or coach assistant at Sammamish High School. I have previously served as a VIBES volunteer at Stevenson Elementary School since it was close to my home. I could volunteer for two days per week. Eventually, I'd like to volunteer at the new Wilburton Elementary School next year since it's within walking distance from my home. I'm interested in foreign languages and physical education. I was a Russian linguist in the Navy and studied French and German in college. I also worked as a group exercise instructor and personal trainer at the Bellevue YMCA. I have a BA degree in Philosophy and am a retired Navy Captain.
