The mission of NOVAM is "To educate the community about HIV/AIDS, to combat the fear, prejudice, and complacency that surround the disease, and to provide direct services to meet the needs of those who are living with HIV/AIDS. We serve all those who have been touched by this epidemic, regardless of gender, race, disability, creed, sexual orientation or national origin."

NOVAM has been providing unique and professional services throughout Northern Virginia for the past 25 years, offering comprehensive HIV prevention education in schools and other community facilities, free and confidential HIV testing, support for youth who are gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered, childrens services, and transportation services for medical appointments.

NOVAM has been and continues to be the only program in Northern Virginia providing comprehensive, targeted and professional HIV and STI prevention education to youth with programs specifically tailored to youth living in alternative living environments.
