Poverty Simulation (HDFS 360)

I will be presenting a poverty simulation in my HDFS 360 class. This is a great opportunity for students to develop a deeper understanding and empathy for those who experience poverty in their lives.

 Poverty Simulation

When: Sept. 4 & 6th from 9-9:50am

Where: Marston 2200

Sign up: contact Dr. Amanda Hardy at Hardy@iastate.edu and put "simulation volunteer" in the subject heading.

Student volunteers would be assigned a role in the simulation (police officer, bank teller, pawn shop, health clinic, etc.). Each role has a detailed description of the task that is supposed to be carried out. Essentially, all the student has to do is show up and follow those directions!
