Girl Scouting serves over 20,000 girls in Miami Dade and Monroe Counties in troops, groups , series, events, travel, camping and virtual pathways.

Volunteer involvement is needed to build girls of courage, confidence and character in many ways: Decisions for Your Life ( a teen pregnancy prevention initiative), Daily Academic After School Program ( a tuturing, homework assistance and fitness project for migrant children), Challenge and Change, ( leadership and service development project, and Get Real- mentoring project.

"Get Real" is a Mentoring program supported by the Girl Scouts , the State of Florida, and The United Way, that matches a female volunteer with a girl of middle school age to serve as her mentor. The mentor's role is that of a friend, life coach, and guide. The "Get Real" mentoring program takes place during the school day in middle schools in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties..
