Are you looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity? Being a companion to a hospice patient does not require any special experience or education, only the desire to be a friend to someone in need and the ability to be compassionate and understanding. Patient companions can perform a range of duties, from simply sitting and talking with a patient to helping them with light chores such as putting groceries away or sweeping. You will be trained and supported throughout the volunteer experience and given the tools and resources you need to be a compassionate and caring friend to a patient in need.
