Friends of the Phoenix Public Library

About

The Friends have been instrumental in raising millions for the library programs citywide; adding additional books and furnishings for the library's; providing input to public officials to ensure a strong library system; developing nationally recognized Teen Centers; purchasing rare books and Spanish language materials; holding book sales to raise funds and provide low cost books to the public and acting as a conduit between the community and the library system. The Friends of the Phoenix Library was organized in 1977 and has chapters at each Phoenix library branch. We invite volunteers to help in efforts to develop financial resources and programs, create public awareness and serve as advocates for the library system.

Mission: To promote, enhance and expand the presence and services of the library for the benefit of the community. This is accomplished by bringing together concerned citizens, the business community, and organizations to develop fiscal resources and programs, to create public awareness and to serve as an advocate for the library system.
